Our Girls & Mr Dougal

We are lucky enough to be owned by 9 chickens and 1 cockerel called Dougal.  The girls all have names too and over the next few weeks I’ll be introducing them to you.

Five of them are ex commercial hens (brown ones) which we rescued and the other 4 (grey & white Speckledys)  are little teenagers just starting to lay.  Dougal is a teenager too and likes to think he is in charge.

Best thing about keeping your own hens?

Eggs!  Lots and lots of fresh eggs.
