Maltesers Cakes
These maltesers cakes are quick and easy to make but taste divine.
Cake Ingredients
- 175g plain flour
- 150g soft brown sugar
- 100g caster sugar
- 3 eggs
- 175ml milk
- 15g butter
- 5 tablespoons of Horlicks
- 5 tablespoons of cocoa powder (not drinking chocolate)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon bar carbonate of soda
Icing Ingredients
- 250g icing sugar
- 125g unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons boiling water
- 2 tablespoon Horlicks
- 2 tablespoon cocoa
Decoration
- Box of maltesers
Method
- Melt butter, Horlicks and milk
- Whisk eggs and sugars until light and fluffy
- Add milk mixture to eggs and sugar and stir
- Add all other cake ingredients and mix well until you have a smooth batter
- Place batter in cake cases and cook for about 20 mins in a preheated oven at 170 degrees
- Allow cakes to cool
- Mix all the icing ingredients until light and fluffy
- Pipe icing on to cooled cakes and decorate with maltesers
