Maltesers Cakes

 

These maltesers cakes are quick and easy to make but taste divine.

Cake Ingredients

  • 175g plain flour
  • 150g soft brown sugar
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 175ml milk
  • 15g butter
  • 5 tablespoons of Horlicks
  • 5 tablespoons of cocoa powder (not drinking chocolate)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon bar carbonate of soda

Icing Ingredients

  • 250g icing sugar
  • 125g unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons boiling water
  • 2 tablespoon Horlicks
  • 2 tablespoon cocoa

Decoration

  • Box of maltesers

Method

  • Melt butter, Horlicks and milk
  • Whisk eggs and sugars until light and fluffy
  • Add milk mixture to eggs and sugar and stir
  • Add all other cake ingredients and mix well until you have a smooth batter
  • Place batter in cake cases and cook for about 20 mins in a preheated oven at 170 degrees
  • Allow cakes to cool
  • Mix all the icing ingredients until light and fluffy
  • Pipe icing on to cooled cakes and decorate with maltesers
